Herbal Medicine for the 21st Century

Richard is a clinical herbalist with a private practice in New York City and in Sullivan County, NY. He is the director of the Clinical Herbalist Diploma Program at the Lehigh Valley Healing Arts Academy in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, and also teaches workshops in herbal medicine at the Center for Creative Therapies and the Arts in the Catskills. He guest lectures in Botany at David Winston's Center for Herbal Studies, is a frequent lecturer at the New Age Health Spa in Neversink, NY, and regularly gives plant walks at the New York Botanical Garden.

Richard has been practicing as an herbalist since 1997, with a background in both Chinese and Western herbal traditions, and is a graduate of David Winston's School of Herbal Therapeutics as well as the Advanced Herbal Training Program at Sage Mountain. Richard also studied in New York City with herbalist William LeSassier.

Richard has been an avid student of our native flora for over twenty years, and in addition to teaching on a diverse range of clinical subjects, he often leads workshops on field botany, wild edible plants and mushrooms. He is a professional member of the American Herbalists Guild (AHG).
